sensitive are Larco mats? |
| A: Larco mats have a
high sensitivity threshold with pressures of as
little as 3-5 lbs/ft2 required for
activation. In addition, Larco mats are
extraordinarily strong and can withstand heavy
loads of as much as 3,000 psi. |
| Q: How
are Larco mats affected by water and other
liquids? |
| A: Larco mats are
totally submersible in water and other liquids.
The heavy-duty outer shell is made of molded vinyl
and is hermetically sealed ensuring that water
cannot seep into and short out the mat's internal
electrode. In addition, the heavy-duty internal
electrode is bonded to the outer shell, which
means that even if your Larco mat is punctured,
water will not seep into and short out your
mat. |
| Q: Can
I order a Larco mat in colors other than black? |
| A: Larco mats are
available in a number of color options. The
standard mat color is black, but other colors are
available for an additional charge, including
brown, yellow, gray, blue, red and cordovan. |
| Q: Can
I customize my mat with a "caution"
message? |
| A: Informational
messages, such as "caution" or "do
not step" or logos can be added to your
safety mat utilizing contrasting colors to provide
a visual warning to personnel. Larco has a variety
of standard logos in stock, such as the
international "do not enter" symbol and
directional arrows. We also can custom-build logos
for your specific application. |
| Q: What
if I need a special size that isn't listed on your
standard sizes list? |
| A: Larco can modify
any of our standard mat sizes to create an
unlimited number of "custom" mat sizes
and shapes. You can specify changes in the length
and/or width of a mat and/or cut notches, angles
and radiuses into any of our standard mat sizes. |
| Q: How
many control units do I need for my mat set-up? |
| A: Larco
AZR-series
and Zone Monitor 5000ex control units can both
accept input from up to 10 mats. The Larco AZR-series
controllers utilize 2-5 or 2-10 mat junction
boxes to make water-tight mat connections. The
Zone Monitor 5000ex has 10 built-in mat connectors
that eliminate the need for junction boxes. |
