Description
The LarcoMat EuroSystemª Machinery Safeguarding system has been third-party tested and certified by the BIA in Germany and SAQ in Sweden to be in compliance with all appropriate
EN standards and is deemed "CE" compliant. The Larco EuroSystem is certified as a Category 3 Safety System in accordance with EN 954. A EuroSystem consists of one or more Larco "CE Series" safety mats, a Larco AZR31 series Mat Control and a "Total Activation Trim Kit."
The EuroSystem is based on the same durable design that has built Larco's reputation as: "The most durable and reliable Safety Mats." Construction includes 24 gauge steel electrodes, heavy duty cords which are mechanically fixed to the electrode and high abrasion-resistant solid molded vinyl construction which hermetically seals the electrode and cord assembly against fluids.
Principles
of Design
A Larco Safety Mat functions as a low-voltage normally open switch
that is closed when pressure is applied to the mat. The system utilizes a 4-wire closed-loop mat circuit in which the Larco Safety Mats are connected in series with each other and the AZR31 input monitoring relays.
The Larco AZR31 Mat Control monitors the Safety Mat for presence detection and also provides continuous monitoring for fault conditions including wiring shorts, breaks or internal faults. The AZR31 initiates a Machine Stop when presence is sensed or if a fault condition is detected.
A Larco AZR31 Control is a Category 4 safeguarding device
that utilizes a dual channel design including redundant captive contact output relays. When all internal and external conditions are satisfied the output relays operate to allow machine operation.
The Larco AZR31 Control is available in 24 VDC, 115 VAC and 230 VAC and either automatic
(AZR 31T2) or manual (AZR 31R2) restart options.
